Teacher Bio

This is my 14th year at PHS and my 20th year in education after graduating from Howard University with a degree in English and Secondary Education.  I hold a Master's of Science in Education from McDaniel College.  I just completed a year-long administrative internship to become a certified school administrator.  I love technology and was recently certified as an Apple Teacher.

Currently, I am in school again through a wonderful opportunity through Columbia University of New York.  I honestly feel like I am in a post-graduate IB Program for teachers.  My colleagues are from all over the United States and two are in the UK.  We hold both synchronous and asynchronous discussions about our work.  The certificate program in Global Competence is supporting my work in teaching students as International citizens.  The highlights include a Capstone Project and Fieldwork in one of six places abroad.  I chose Uganda and hope to meet my teacher pen-pal in person.

I am happy start my third year at Parkdale as the coordinator of the International Baccalaureate program.  I have taught TOK in the diploma program and am ecstatic to continuing serving students in this capacity as well.  I look forward to continual growth as a teacher, coordinator and parent while working with families and community members.
